Automotive PCB & PCBA

PCBs and assemblies for automotive electronics under IATF 16949 certified quality systems, with the records and traceability your quality team asks for.

IATF 16949 certified · Up to 100,000 m² monthly PCB capacity · Prototypes to volume

IATF 16949 and quality certifications

Check each certificate's scope against your supplier requirements.

IATF 16949:2016 certificates cover PCB manufacturing (IATF no. 0555586) and PCB assembly, SMT (IATF nos. 0467178 and 0489789). Product design under clause 8.3 is excluded. Third-party RoHS, REACH and PFAS test reports (CTI) are available for boards with ENIG, lead-free HASL or OSP finishes. View all certificates

Automotive PCB FAQ

Is NextPCB IATF 16949 certified?

Yes. We hold IATF 16949:2016 certificates for PCB manufacturing and for PCB assembly (SMT). Each certificate covers its own scope, and product design under clause 8.3 is excluded. You can view the certificates on our certificate page.

Does IATF 16949 mean my board is PPAP approved?

No. IATF 16949 certifies a quality management system, not a product or a PPAP submission. Send your customer-specific requirements with your quote request so our engineers can confirm what we can support before you order.

Which reliability tests do you support?

We support microsection analysis, thermal shock, ionic contamination, solderability and peel strength testing, along with delamination time (T260/T288) and CTI checks. Tell us your test method and acceptance criteria before you order.

How do I choose the Tg for under-hood use?

Pick a Tg above your highest operating temperature with margin, then check how the board behaves through thermal cycling and lead-free reflow. Standard boards are offered with Tg up to 170 °C. Ask our engineers about higher-Tg options before you order.

What is the maximum copper thickness?

Base copper goes up to 4 oz on inner and outer layers. At 4 oz the minimum trace and space is 9/9 mil on outer layers and 8/12 mil on inner layers. Your current and allowed temperature rise decide the copper weight.

Do you provide RoHS, REACH and PFAS reports?

Yes. Third-party test reports from CTI are available for boards with ENIG, lead-free HASL or OSP finishes. The reports cover those finishes only, so ask before you order if you use another finish.

How do you source parts and prevent counterfeits?

Parts come through HQ Online from global distributors such as DigiKey and Mouser, or directly from manufacturers. Authenticity is guaranteed: fake, second-hand and refurbished parts are not allowed, and incoming parts go through incoming quality inspection.

Can you substitute a part that is out of stock?

Not without your written confirmation. If engineering questions come up during review, we raise them through our engineering query (EQ) process and wait for your approval before production continues.

Do you sign an NDA?

Yes. We support legally binding NDAs. Contact support@nextpcb.com before you share files if you need one in place first.

How much volume can you support?

Prototype and small-batch orders are built at our sample sites, and volume PCB production runs at our high-capacity site, up to 100,000 m² per month. 1–2 layer PCB prototypes have no minimum order quantity and can ship in as fast as 24 hours, and PCB assembly starts from one piece. The online quote shows timing for your exact order.
