What Is the Lead Time for NextPCB PCBA Orders?

After the Design for Assembly (DFA) review is complete, the lead time for PCB assembly (PCBA) begins on the day components are purchased.

Standard PCBA Lead Times

  • ~7 Business Days: If all parts are sourced directly from HQ Online.
  • ~20 Business Days: If components are not from HQ Online. These parts require importation, meaning it typically takes several weeks to clear customs and arrive at our facilities.

Note: PCB fabrication usually occurs simultaneously and is completed by the time parts arrive and are verified. Total lead times may also be affected by PCB production time, part/PCB volume, and any additional services.

Order Status & Timelines

You can track your order progress on our website. Here is what each status means:

  • PCB in Production: Your bare boards are currently being manufactured (typically 3–14 business days).
  • BOM Processing: Component and material procurement is taking place (around 17 business days from order confirmation).
  • Assembly: All parts have been verified, and the boards will be assembled within 5 business days.

Lead Time Extensions

Standard lead times do not account for hold-ups caused during the DFA/DFM file review. Any issue that requires customer confirmation will extend the lead time if the response is not timely. Common causes for delays include:

  1. Slow confirmation of DFA problems.
  2. Slow confirmation of Engineering Questions (EQ).
  3. Slow confirmation of sample pictures.

To ensure your order is not delayed, please monitor your email closely for notifications from our engineering team.
