Technical Highlight: The Raspberry Pi CM5

The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5) offers a powerful platform built around the Broadcom BCM2712 SoC, bringing USB 3.0, native PCIe, and a high-performance 64-bit Arm processor into a compact SoM.

Key CM5 Specs

Processor BCM2712 quad-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A76 @ 2.4GHz
Interfaces 1x PCIe x1 Gen 2, 2x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0
Memory Up to 16GB LPDDR4-4267 SDRAM with ECC
I/O Up to 30x GPIO (1.8V or 3.3V signalling)
Note: Reference the official CM5 datasheet and design files for critical pinout, layout, and component information.

The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 represents a monumental leap in embedded computing power, transitioning from the hobbyist domain to serious industrial applications. This isn't just another SBC—it's a platform demanding professional carrier designs that unlock its full potential.

Why Participate?

The NextPCB Accelerator is empowering innovators to push the limits of the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 by sponsoring the fabrication and assembly of your custom carrier board.

  • 2 Free PCBA Prototypes: Receive two complete PCBA units, including PCB fabrication, component sourcing, assembly, and worldwide shipping, valued up to approximately $500.
  • Showcase Your Project: Outstanding projects will receive a $50 Amazon gift card. To qualify, simply share your finished project on social media and gather 100 likes. Every 100 extra likes earns an additional $50.
  • Comprehensive Technical Support: Get expert assistance with manufacturing engineering, design guidance, certification, and production.

How to Apply

  1. 1. Submit Your Application: Fill out the detailed application form with your project scope. Here
  2. 2. Design Review: Our team will review your project's originality, feasibility, and technical details and respond to you within three working days.
  3. 3. Receive Free Prototypes: Upon approval, proceed to submit your order and receive your two free PCBA units.

We're sponsoring 10 projects for this campaign

Who Can Participate?

We seek high-quality, executable hardware projects. Priority is given to enterprise projects. Welcome are personal projects that contribute to the open-source community.

  • Must be Original: The design must be an original, unique creation. We do not accept resubmissions of publicly available or common designs.
  • Sponsorship Limit: A single entity or project is limited to one NextPCB Accelerator sponsorship every three months.
