Several factors that influence the PCB designer's decision

The R&D staff considers how to integrate the latest advancement technology into the product. These advanced technologies can be embodied not only in superior product functions, but also in reducing the cost of products. The challenge is how to effectively apply these technologies in products. There are many factors that need to be considered. The time to market is one of the most important factors, and there are many decisions around time to market that are constantly updated. There are a number of factors that need to be considered, from product functionality, design implementation, product testing, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) compliance. Reducing design iterations is possible, but it depends on the completion of the previous work. Most of the time, the more difficult it is to find the problem in the later stage of product design, the more painful is to make changes to the discovered problem. However, although many people are clear about this rule of thumb, the actual situation is another scenario where it is important for many companies to clearly have a highly integrated design software, but this idea is often compromised at high prices.

1. Product features

A. Basic functions that cover the basic requirements, including:

a. Interaction between schematics and PCB layout

b. Automatic fan-out routing, push-pull, and other routing functions, as well as routing capabilities based on design rule constraints

c. Accurate DRC checker

B. Ability to upgrade product functionality as the company engages in a more complex design

a.HDI (High Density Interconnect) Interface

b. Flexible design

c. Embedded passive components

d. RF design

e. Automatic scripts are born

f. Topology layout

g. Manufacturability (DFF), Testability (DFT), Producability (DFM), etc.

C. Additional products can perform analog simulation, digital simulation, analog mixed-signal simulation, high-speed signal simulation, and RF simulation

D. Having a central component library that is easy to create and govern

2. A good partner who is technically located in the leadership of the industry and has poured more effort than other manufacturers can help you to design products with the greatest power and leading technology in the shortest possible time.

3. The price should be the second most important factor in the above factors, and more attention should be paid to the return on investment!

There are many factors to consider when evaluating a PCB. The type of development tools designers are looking for depends on the complexity of the design work they are doing. As the system is becoming more and more complex, the control of the physical routing and deployment of electrical components has developed to a very wide extent, so that it is necessary to set constraints for the hub path in the design process. However, excessive design constraints hamper design flexibility. Designers must understand their design and their rules very well, and they must be clear about when they should use these rules.

Shows a typical front-to-back integration system design. It starts with the design definition (schematic input) and the design definition is tightly grouped with the constraint editor. In constraint editing, designers can define both physical and electrical constraints. Electrical constraints will be pre-layout and post-layout analysis for the network verification driver simulator. Take a closer look at the design definition, which is also linked with the FPGA/PCB integration. The purpose of FPGA/PCB integration is to provide bi-directional integration, data governance, and the ability to perform co-designs between FPGAs and PCBs.

The same constraint rules for physical implementation as during design definition are entered during the layout phase. This reduces the probability of making mistakes from the file to the layout. Pin swapping, logic gate swapping, and even input/output interface group (IO_Bank) swaps all need to be returned to the design definition stage for updating, so the design of each link is synchronized.
